Gaming Notebook Prices to Decline Due to Increased Competition

Tech + More

Just a while ago it seemed like fast laptops were only being produced by a handful of specialist resellers and were built to spec, not mass produced. They were low volume sellers and massive revenue making systems. I think numerous people would concur they always desired a gaming notebook but it was just out of range for the masses. I bet you would say they were the best laptops about, at least performance wise. They would create a lot of excitement but I doubt lots of people would go out and buy laptops at high prices. The future for gaming notebook computers is now seen by the global manufacturers as an unmissable opportunity for them.

I think they would class it as a top end laptop and make great amounts of cash on these especially with their mass production facilities. This could be one of the few money making lines they have as they make nothing on the majority of others due to the giant competition. Additionally they can use their gigantic marketing funds to entice buyers further into parting with their cash or bringing out the credit cards to buy laptops like these ones. This is an enormous threat to littler boutique resellers. The top notch technology will quickly make its path into the view of the everyday customers. I believe purchasing from a familiar brand additionally provides the perception of greater value.

Amazingly, the laptops they’re making are a handful of the best laptops to date. This is a major opportunity the littler competition need to apply to their advantage. Selecting the specification is something all the geek’s enjoy. Being educated in the technology, these kinds of buyers are savvy to what specifications to look for. The tech specs are of great significance for this sort of person.

Obviously from the consumers perspective, its a great situation. This should continue to make the high end technology increasingly affordable for the consumer. I think even industry experts would have a tough time seeing where the market is headed. New innovations are continuously being launched and that should keep prices relatively high. As the gaming notebook division becomes over crowded with large companies, many will utilize a wait and see tactic.

T-Mobile’s Circuit Switched Data service comes to a screeching halt

Consumer World, Tech + More, Telco

CSD-WAP subscribers from UK’s T-Mobile will be informed of disconnection beginning July 9th. Customers are suggested to switch to GPRS, or other 21st century mediums, disposing of former pay per minute mobile internet access.

Circuit Switched Data (CSD) has been used by phones for off-site data access since the early days of technology. Equivalent to that of a first generation dial up modem, the CSD -WAP allows speeds of up to 9.6Kb/s, ideal for downloading undemanding content from Internet sources. Even complimented by the simplicity of mobile internet, the CSD capabilities are not enough, causing menu lags when accessing graphics or high-end content.

From CSD to GPRS to 3G, the mobile internet has evolved into a revolutionary networking technology. With the newly increasing speeds that are now at hand, data can be transferred thoroughly thru innovative technology.

A connection based technology, CSD uses connections which are charged by the minute, rather than mere qualitative data transfer. The few consumers who still utilize CSD service are paying £2.50 a month for 30 minutes of derivative service. In the coming days and months, these last few customers will be required to migrate to GPRS to access mobile internet, an allotment which is necessary to quality broadband experience.

Where Is Our Largest Technological Plan?

Tech + More

The period, more or less one year before September 11. The White House Technology Advisor worked in the mankind largest plan until now, to install a fantastic communications and IT network of 100 Mb/s in 100 million houses in the next 10 years. A plan bigger than the Kennedy’s plan to place a man in the Moon in 10 years.

The plan was being developed with a lot of priorities, 470 companies had already petitioned to participate and/or to invest, they discussed the more suitable communications protocol among the existent ones - as the H.323 - and the new ones, etc. The forecast was to announce it until the end of 2002.

That plan had very big goals, among which I can remember:

01. e-Surgery

02. e-Physician

03. e-Education (all levels)

04. e-Training (for companies)

05. e-Business (B2B, B2C, C2B, and by voice)

06. Iterative TV

07. e-Movies

08. e-Security (Federal, State, Country, homes)

09. e-Elections

10. TV telephony

11. e-Police

12. e-Government (all between the government and the Citizens)

13. e-Theater

14. e-Conferences

15. e-Libraries

16. e-Sciences

17. e-Polls

18. e-Management

19. TeleCommuter (home work)

20. All IT processing and storage through distant data centers

21. An estimated 1,000,000 new companies

and more e-Xs that you can imagine.

In every moment that I thought of this plan, I lamented two things: first, to be 73-years old and probably cannot accompanies him in the next 30 years, and second, the dozens of technological ideas that I could suggest.

And then the September 11 happened, the main national priority moved to security matters, the investments - government and privates - moved to another directions and the people worried more about the moment than with the future.

But in order to survive, without the smallest doubt we need this technological plan in order to maintain the world technological hegemony of the United States in the next 30-40 years and as a result, our world economic hegemony. And as you realize, I am talking about our children and grandsons future.

Now we are choosing a new President but any that comes to be the chosen, again that plan must have a very high priority, and for its greatness and for its long duration naturally he doesn’t depend on a specific Party or a specific government.

Now we have a lot of communication products and services - mobiles and its thousand of applications, digital TV, etc - and a lot of IT applications and services - CRM Customer Relationship Management with sophisticated voice and bidirectional Call Centers, ERP Enterprise Resources Planning, Voice over IP Voip, BI Business Intelligence, Data Mining, AI Artificial Intelligence, GSI, the wide Internet and its thousand of applications, etc - but all those are small embryos of what is possible to do.

What we need to do?

As the plan is natural and technologically possible and in its largest portion depends more on the private initiatives and less on the government, my suggestion is the creation of a nonpolitical Foundation to fight for this plan in the White House, the Congress, the media, the society, the industries, the colleges, etc., and naturally to integrate all those sides.

I have the freedom of initiatives in my blood and for me nothing is more powerful than a very true entrepreneur. After all, those entrepreneurs created the successful United States, therefore we need only to repeat the recipe. For ever.

Changes in Media

Best Media Resources, Tech + More, Telco

Media Changes and Shake-ups

Media is changing in our society. Where media used to be divided into the categories of television, radio, and print publishing (books, magazines, newspaper, etc.) media today is intermixed. Some key innovations in technology–e.g. the personal computer, the internet, the cell phone–have revolutionized the way people communicate, and as the functions of these inventions become more popular, newer technology finds ways to unite them together. With the technology available to us today, newspapers and magazines are read on the internet, books are available for e-download on cell phone screens, and podcasts broadcast radio programs to millions everywhere.

Media technology is blossoming in every facet of the industry, which in turn alters the ways people use media to communicate, learn, stay connected, and be entertained. In particular, the internet has revolutionized the way people use computers and digital devices to interact. Social Media Platforms like Myspace and Facebook create digitalized social spaces where people keep track of their friends, share their lives, ambitions, and businesses, and make connections. Digital media, such as streaming online video feeds (Youtube) provides a unique source of information and entertainment for millions worldwide. With the invention of the iPhone from Apple and handheld telecommunication devices like it, all forms of media can be taken anywhere.

As technology changes media, media companies invoke change in business practices to maximize new and emerging markets. Where the media industry was once divided into the branches of television, radio, and print publishing–branches that sometimes cooperated and sometimes competed for advertising dollars–the distinction between them has become increasingly blurred. As the different mediums for communication become more interconnected, media companies themselves have found it increasingly profitable to collaborate, establish partnerships, and facilitate mergers between media companies in order to incorporate radio, television, newspapers, magazines, search engine technology, telecommunications under one umbrella.

The technology leaders in the shake-up of the media industry include technicians, innovators, enterprising businessmen and women, and the media metric moguls that scramble to make sure their technology provides accurate information on what it’s all worth. Although the playing field keeps changing, leaders and innovators in media technology are on the forefront of systemic social, business, and political change.

As innovations in technology and media continue to change, keeping and eye on the leaders of the industry will let us know what is coming next in a interconnected world where media is the conduit for business, the vehicle for social interaction, and the springboard for technological development.

TGI Provides Advanced Decision Support Systems for Food & Beverage Executives

Tech + More

TGI’s ERP system, Enterprise 21, is geared for food and beverage
manufacturers with one plant center or multiple manufacturing
and distribution centers. The data is available to optimize the
supply chain to minimize costs and maximize profits. All
applications are inherently integrated in the TGI product suite,
so enterprise transparency truly exists. Food and beverage
executives are frequently too busy to review detailed reports or
analysis; exception reporting and alerts can be established to
provide interaction only when needed. Food and beverage industry
executives struggle due to lack of system integration and poor
visibility of major business functions. According to Rebecca
Gill, Vice-President with Technology Group International (TGI),
“Food and Beverage executives do not want to simply manage their
business, they want to lead and direct the future of their
company. These executives need real-time sophisticated tools to
make educated decisions.” Viewing inventory levels or reviewing
current production capacity is a requirement that many ERP
(Enterprise Resource Planning) software systems lack. Gill
asserts, “Advanced decision support systems and business
planning models using linear programming take the average food
and beverage executives’ day to the next level by placing all
relevant business data at their fingertips and within their
reach whenever they need it.” About Technology Group
