HOW TO ATTRACT SUCCESS AND LIVE ABUNDANTLY

I am embarking on a journey and I invite you to come along. This is a personal journey to discover how to live abundantly and attract those things that we really want in life. While each of us may be heading in different directions, the process will be the same. We will first determine the destination, map out the route and enjoy the scenery along the way. Are you interested? Want to come along?

DESTINATION

Before we even begin to travel, we have to know where we are going. So, let’s define success and living abundantly. For me, it is having what I need and needing what I have. Just being able to recognize that I have enough is empowering. However, there are times in my life when I over-commit and over-indulge. The goal of my journey is to recognize that I do not need it all or even want it all. I just want enough.

What does success and abundant living mean to you? Let me help you along by asking a few questions. When you reached your destination, what will it look like? What will it feel like? What euphoria are you seeking? What dreams are hidden away because you thought they were impossible to obtain? I ask these questions so that you will focus on the possibilities. If you do not know what it is you want, then you will not know if you have reached your goal. As a colleague once said, “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will do.”

PLANNING

It is time to put on your thinking cap and make a list of your goals. If you are like most people, your list may include losing weight, exercising more, eating healthier, reading more books, or getting organized. However, you may desire mini-vacations, a cruise, more money in the bank, more time with family and friends, a new car, or a bigger home. Pull out some paper and pen and start making your list. Simply writing it down starts the process of making it happen. Success will not be far behind.

Many folks make hasty resolutions on New Year’s Day and then chuckle hoping that the changes will last for a week or so. The inability to follow through on resolutions is due to the lack of a passionate conviction and no map or plan. We state a half-hearted remark such as, “I want to get organized,” and then spend a few hours clearing off the desktop. However, when life gets busy again, we are right back to the same old habits with the same old results - clutter and disorganization. Whatever happened to commitments?

CHALLENGE

During the next few days, list all the things that would make your life abundantly successful. Next to each entry, list how you will feel when you actually achieve that desire. Here is a sample layout:

I want to achieve___ — When I get it, this is how I will feel__

1. Abundant health — I will feel like I am floating when I walk. Daily activities will be effortless. I will stand tall, head erect and vibrantly observe my surroundings.

2. Abundant finances — When I sit down to pay the bills, I will have more money than I need in my accounts and I will feel thankful to those that have provided a valuable service that makes my life easier.

3. Abundant energy — Sleep will rejuvenate me and each morning I will feel refreshed and eager to experience new opportunities.

4. Abundant organization — When order is a part of every facet of my life, my surroundings nurture me physically, mentally and emotionally.

FEEL IT

We marvel at the feats of Olympic athletes winning by a mere inch or a fraction of a second. When asked how they accomplished such excellence, often they respond, “I feel the weight of the medal around my neck and the headiness of standing on the center podium listening to my national anthem.” Feeling the success is powerful stuff! This is the track that changes wishful thinking into actuality. Fe-e-e-e-l it!

When you are feeling your best, filled with joy and gratitude, you attract more joy and everything around you vibrates with pleasure. Yet, on those days when you are off balance, filled with fear or worry, you experience discontent everywhere. It is simply the law of attraction at work. Like attracts like. When you think of something that will make you happy, you feel uplifted, joyous and grateful.

The way you think is the way you feel, and that is the power to attract success and abundance. Circumstances outside yourself cannot and will not control your life once you recognize that it is your feelings that set the stage for abundance. You are not a puppet. You have freedom of choice, the freedom to achieve abundant living and success.

SUCCESSFUL JOURNEY

The key to success starts with desire - desire for an abundant bank account, desire for a slimmer body, desire for a new car, desire to organize the garage, desire to learn a foreign language, desire to master the incoming mail, desire to play the guitar, desire to live simply. Whatever your definition of success may be, you can achieve it with a deep down, passionate must-have feeling.

Ask yourself, “What do I want and why do I want it?” Begin to feel the pleasure your response evokes.

Marketing on the Internet: Legal Rules of the Road

The Internet is connecting advertisers and marketers to customers from Boston to Bali. If you’re thinking about advertising on the Internet, remember that many of the same rules that apply to other forms of advertising apply to electronic marketing.

The Federal Trade Commission Act allows the FTC to act in the interest of all consumers to prevent deceptive and unfair acts or practices. The FTC has determined that a representation, omission or practice is deceptive if it is likely to:

1. Mislead consumers and

2. Affect consumers’ behavior or decisions about the product or service.

In addition, an act or practice is unfair if the injury it causes is:

1. Substantial

2. Not outweighed by other benefits and

3. Not reasonably avoidable.

The FTC prohibits unfair or deceptive advertising in any medium. That is, advertising must tell the truth and not mislead consumers. A claim can be misleading if relevant information is left out or if the claim implies something that’s not true. For example, a lease advertisement for an automobile that promotes “$0 Down” may be misleading if significant and undisclosed charges are due at lease signing.

In addition, claims must be substantiated, especially when they concern health, safety, or performance. The type of evidence may depend on the product, the claims, and what experts believe necessary. If your ad specifies a certain level of support for a claim - “tests show X” - you must have at least that level of support.

Other points to consider:

Disclaimers and disclosures must be clear and conspicuous. That is, consumers must be able to notice, read or hear, and understand the information. Still, a disclaimer or disclosure alone usually is not enough to remedy a false or deceptive claim.

Testimonials and endorsements must reflect the typical experiences of consumers, unless the ad clearly and conspicuously states otherwise. A statement that not all consumers will get the same results is not enough to qualify a claim. Testimonials and endorsements can’t be used to make a claim that the advertiser itself cannot substantiate.

If your ad uses phrases like “satisfaction guaranteed” or “money-back guarantee,” you must be willing to give full refunds for any reason. You also must tell the consumer the terms of the offer.

Non-Compliance

If you fail to follow these rules, you run the risk of being prosecuted by the FTC. Successful prosecutions typically result in injunctions against your site and damages awarded in the amount of $11,000 PER VIOLATION.

Rectangular Figure - Also called H Shape, I Shape, and

bodices with a slightly dropped waist, Basque waist or v-waist
work well for you, as well. Anything that gives the illusion of
a waist without a horizontal line at your waist will work well
for you. Empire waistline is your friend. You can wear sheaths,
empire style, raised waist, a-line, Basque waistline, dropped
waist. Avoid gathered or heavily pleated fabric at the waist. If
you are in the upper plus sizes, you might look in evening wear
and look for a white beaded gown in the tunic and skirt style.

Apple Figure - Also called O Shape, Circle Shape or Round
Shape:
This is the most difficult shape to dress. Your
figure is visually larger or wider above the waist and narrower
around your hips and thighs. Think vertical lines. Avoid
anything that creates an actual horizontal line at the waist.
Some a-line in the skirt is ok if it falls in a nice, soft
drape. No crinolines. Avoid gathered or heavily pleated fabric
at the waist. Empire style and soft drape a-line styles are your
best choices. If you could find a two piece gown with a straight
skirt and a tunic style top, this would work very well for you.
You might look in evening wear and look for a white beaded, lace
or crepe gown in this style, especially if you wear the upper
plus sizes and just not feeling comfortable in any other style.

Pear Figure - Also called A Shape, Triangle Shape:
Wonderful pear shaped women have a waist - sometimes a tiny
waist. You can wear bodices that are fitted and defined. You can
even have a gown with a horizontal line at the waist. You can
wear a-line or anything that flares out. A fitted bodice that
comes to a V in the front elongates your slim upper body and
makes the skirt just flow over your hips and makes them
disappear. Sometimes, however, a pear shaped woman can have very
small or sloping shoulders. You may need to add some small
shoulder pads (fabric store) to hold the shoulders up. Avoid
straight skirted gowns. They will pull across the hip area. And
you may read somewhere that empire style works for pear shape,
but I disagree. Empire style hides your greatest asset - your
little waist. A-line, defined waist ballgown, or Basque styles
will look great on you.

Weight Loss and Sleep Deprivation - Is There a Connection?

How can sleep deprivation affect weight loss? Surely the reverse
is true! If we’re tossing and turning all night, aren’t we
burning a few more kilojoules?

Perhaps, but it’s more complicated than that. When we don’t have
enough sleep, our energy is very low. This can trick the brain
into thinking it requires more food to replenish our energy
stores.

So we tend to eat more. Not only that we tend to crave high
energy foods such as ice cream, cakes or sugar laden soft drinks.

To make matters worse, the effects of sleep deprivation can
lessen the body’s ability to process glucose efficiently leading
to an increased tendency to put on weight. This could also lead
to an increased risk of diabetes.

Lack of sleep also produce higher levels of the stress hormone
cortisol and lower the metabolic rate which means we burn less
kilojoules.

A simple way to increase the metabolic rate is to exercise every
day. But we don’t feel like exercising when we’re tired do we?
No, a seat in front of the telly is far more appealing,
preferably with our favourite comfort food!

So if we’re trying to lose weight or simply maintain our weight,
the amount of sleep we have is super important. Sometimes all we
need to do is increase our awareness.

First here’s what not to do. Don’t nap for long periods during
the day. This will upset your natural circadian rhythm and lead
to wakefulness at night.

Late night snacks? The body simply can’t digest these and they
will be laid down as fat! If you must eat late make it a lite
yoghurt, herbal tea or milky drink. Forget the coffee and black
tea as these contain stimulants.

Here’s a few tips:

Increase your exercise. This can be done without enrolling at
the gym! Simply walk more. Get of the bus one stop earlier and
walk the remaining distance. Take the stairs instead of the lift.

If the above is not for you, go shopping! Large shopping centres
are wonderful walking tracks. Have a look in the stores as you
sail past (stay away from food stores though!)

Taking more exercise increases the metabolic rate significantly
and enables us to have better sleep at night. It is also proven
to reduce stress which is the enemy of restful sleep.

Plan your day better. Start winding down in the evenings and use
the mornings for energetic chores. This will enable you to relax
better and you’ll fall asleep quicker.

If you have a sleep problem, get help. There are web-sites and
books that will increase your knowledge on safe and natural ways
to get a good night’s sleep.

So don’t help your body to put on weight through poor sleeping
habits. Eat healthy foods, get rid of stress, exercise more and
sleep your weight away!
